All his working life was spent with British Petroleum, first in the
Middle East and later in Brussels and London. When his father Henry died he and Tricia re-established the traditional annual family camp at their house at Lee Common in the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire. Barnaby organises and leads cross-country family walks which usually last 1-2 weeks. He manages the Watson/Usborne family holiday house at Gates Farm, Dorset. He is chairman of the local Parish Council and active as a Footpath Maintenance Volunteer with the Chiltern Society and has written a short local history (100 years in the Lee).
