Michael writes: "I was born and raised in Vancouver.  After graduation from high school, I went to work in a bank for a few years, then joined a Vancouver based manufacturer of sawmill equipment......  In 1984, I and a couple of other fellows formed a company to manufacture high tech sawmill equipment. The company became one of the leading manufacturers in its field in a relatively short period of time. In 1990, I sold my interest. We moved permanently to our cottage on Thetis Island, a small gulf island east of Vancouver. When I fully retired in 1998, we moved to Duncan, approx. 30K north of Victoria, B.C. Joanne and I enjoy boating (I’d call it fishing, but its been ages since I’ve caught anything), golf, travel (motor homing), and visiting friends and relations. I have an older collectable car and a wooden boat I like to work on in my spare time. Joanne enjoys bridge."
