John Usborne                      Born May 8th 1726 at East Farleigh. Married 1766(?) to Mercy Jenner,  who was born in 1730 Mercy was buried in March 26th 1785. John was buried May 24th.1806 at East Farleigh.

Grave in East Farleigh churchyard reads: "In Memory of Mercy wife of John USBORNE of this parish who died March 26th 1785. Aged 55 Years. Also of John Usborne died November 24th 1806. Aged 80 Years.  Left issue 2 Daughters". Man in his best estate is but a bubble: With labours, cares, and never free from trouble, from this vain world your thoughts keep free And ever fix them on Eternity. If you can always think of this Then you will never die amiss.

John was a member of the East Farleigh parish council between 1768 and 1786. He was an overseer (of the poor) in 1768. They had three children: Elizabeth 1767-1822. Susannah 1769-1851. John b.1771 died before 1806.
