John was a
clothier living in Staplehurst, Kent.
His will was dated February 16th.1614 and proved May 13th.1615
"I bequeath to my son Alexander £40 when 21; to my son John £40
when 21; to my daughters Mary and Anne £30 when 20 or on marriage.
Residual legatee: my wife". An undated codocil provides £20 for a
child if born subsequent to his death.
On December 14th 1615 Elizabeth Usborne, widow, declared:
I give to Benjamin Usborne my youngest son, because he had a smaller
portion (of the estate) of John Usborne his father than any other
of my children, all the goods bequeathed to me by the said John. |
