Osbert Osbarne of Stapylhurst by wyll made the 10th day of October in ye yere and reigne of king Edward ye iiij th.after ye conquest of England xiii. His wife Margaret, Exor. His feoffees immediately after his disceasse suffer Margaret, his wyff and her assigneys to take profit of all his londs and tenements for 20 yere after making of this present wtoute strepe and waste and kepe ye reparacon of ye same. Ye seyd Margaret to honestly kepe and fynd ye children of him and if ye children be not so kept, his feoffes shall put out ye seid Margaret of all ye londs and tents sumtyme Stephen Osbernys and wt profyte yeroff his children to kepe as ferre as hit wille content. Remainder of his lands in defaulte of issue to his sister Alyce, to his next heirs in fee symple paying xxli to his feoffees to bey with a new sute to ye church of Stapilhurst and 100s.to repayre weys between Iden bridge and Herbysfield. etc. After 20 years his "sonnys to have delivery of all his londes in fee simple evenly betwene them dyvided except a pece lond called Highfield".
He leaves 20d.to the church at "Stapilherst, for tithes forgotten";
12d. to light of St Mary, 4d.each to All Saints, St Christopher and St Margaret, 2d.each to Erasmus and St James.
